The review was conducted to inform the development of a new leadership training program for school nurses in Massachusetts. A search conducted across four databases (PubMed, CINAHL, ERIC, and Web of Science) yielded four articles meeting the search criteria published between 1993 and 2007, and no articles meeting the criteria after 2007. The four articles that were found discussed the approaches and evaluation methods of school nurse leadership training programs. They revealed varying training structures and evaluation approaches and covered a wide range of leadership competencies. Importantly, all of the programs reported enhancements in participants' leadership knowledge and practice upon completion of the training program.
