In conjunction, there was a 43% decrease in daily insulin requirements. Low-density lipoprotein cholesterol increased, whereas small-dense low-density lipoprotein was in the normal range (<90 nmol/L). No adverse effects were observed on thyroid function, kidney function, or bone mineral density.
