Based on the existing research, the current study mainly examined how subject teachers perceived their roles and responsibilities in language teaching especially grammar, what strategies they will take to solve students’ grammatical problems, and their feelings and preferences with teacher professional development related to this aspect. Data were obtained from three semi-structured online interviews with three teachers from Beijing Normal University-Hong Kong Baptist University United International College. The findings indicates that EMI lecturers declined to take on the role of language instructors. However, in pursuit of enhancing students' overall understanding of the subject, they did incorporate certain grammar adjustment techniques in their classes and while reviewing students' written work, which is the initial evidence of manifestation of the grammatical Language Related Episodes (LREs). Additionally, the participants recognized the utilization of AI tools to assist students in improving their grammar skills. 摘要

在中国高等教育背景下,英语语言教学(English Medium Instruction,EMI)体系中的语法教学仍是空白,尤其是学科教师对专业课程语法教学的态度和行为,以及他们对这一能力的专业提升的看法。在现有研究的基础上,本研究主要考察学科教师如何看待自己在语言教学尤其是语法教学中的角色和责任,他们会采取哪些策略来解决学生的语法问题,以及他们对与此相关的教师专业发展的感受和偏好。数据来自三次半结构化在线访谈,访谈对象为北京师范大学-香港浸会大学联合国际学院的三位教师。研究结果表明,EMI 讲师拒绝承担语言导师的角色。然而,为了提高学生对该学科的整体理解,他们确实在课堂上和批阅学生书面作业时采用了一些语法调整技巧,这也是语法相关事件(LREs)表现的最初证据。此外,学员们还认可利用人工智能工具来帮助学生提高语法技能。此外,关于英语母语教师的专业成长,他们强调高等教育必须跟上当前的趋势,培训课程应帮助英语母语教师使用人工智能纠正语法,并指导学生在语言学习过程中适当应用人工智能。
