One previously undescribed sesquiterpene analogue, M2 (1), together with five known ones, indole-3-carboxylic acid (2), methyl 4-hydroxycinnamate (3), ergosterol peroxide (4), 6β-hydroxystigmast-4-en-3-one (5), as well as betulonic acid (6), were isolated from the EtOAc extract of the culture broth of an actinomycete Streptomyces sp.
