Patients were assigned to two groups: amputation using classical methods, such as surgical blades and electrocautery (group A); and amputation using an ultrasonic scalpel (group B). Numerous perioperative factors, such as operation time, intraoperative blood loss, postoperative complications and recovery time were examined. The present study adhered to the STROBE guidelines.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>A total of 41 patients (16 in group A and 25 in group B) were included in this study. Operation time was significantly shorter in group B (p=0.001) and intraoperative blood loss was lower (p=0.011).
