The results showed that all individuals were divided into two branches, with the HLJ population forming an independent cluster, and the HN, AH, FJ, and BJ populations clustering together. Selection signal analysis on the HLJ mandarin fish population and other mandarin fish populations using the FST and π HLJ/other methods. Finally, we identified 26 important candidate genes based on the enrichment pathways related to fat traits such as Glycerolipid metabolism, acyl-CoA oxidase activity, Wnt signaling pathway, and Notch signaling pathway, including <em>notch3</em>, <em>pla2g12a</em> and <em>acox1</em>.
