Antimony atoms in the Ar<sub>3</sub>Sb molecule and the [Ar<sub>3</sub>SbCH<sub>2</sub>C(O)OEt]<sup>+</sup> cation, Ar = 2,4,6-(MeO)<sub>3</sub>C<sub>6</sub>H<sub>2</sub> have distorted trigonal pyramidal [angle CSbC 101.97(4)°] and tetrahedral [angle CSbC 104.5(2)°‒113.6(2)°] coordination, respectively.
