Conflict can be mitigated by understanding the intra- and interpersonal dynamics that interfere with rational performance management.</p><p><strong>Discussion: </strong>Psychological processes such as projection, displacement and projective identification are useful in understanding the genesis of bullying and harassment within demanding workplaces.
