The diverse mechanisms employed by AMPs to modulate amyloid aggregation, fibril formation, and toxicity are also discussed. Additionally, we explore emerging evidence suggesting that amyloid proteins may possess antimicrobial properties, adding a new dimension to the intricate relationship between AMPs and amyloids.
