Immunomodulated hamsters, gerbils, rats, and mice were infected with <i>A. caninum.</i> Despite varying degrees of immunosuppression, and in some cases, total adaptive immunodeficiency, no adult worms were recovered, and larval arrest (L3 stage) occurred in muscle tissue of mice and hamsters.
