Despite a slow begining, experimental microsurgery in China may now be on its way to developing a sound research effort to complement the advances made in clinical microsurgery. The development and advances made in both clinical and experimental microsurgery in China since 1946 are reviewed. The experimental and clinical efforts of Professor Wang Suy Hwa and Drs.
