Some data on the establishment of student families: the social-hygiene and demographic aspects.

Some social, demographic, and health aspects of family formation among students aged 20-24 in the USSR are discussed. Trends in the incidence of student marriages are examined with respect to age at marriage, number and timing of births, pregnancy outcome, use of medical facilities, child care arrangements, and reasons for delaying pregnancy. Data are from a survey of 643 married students interviewed in 1978 and 1979.
