CD44 variants, microRNAs and RNA binding proteins are emerging as metastatic modulators.</p><p><strong>Summary: </strong>CRC metastasis is a multi-faceted and heterogeneous disease. Despite common pathways contributing to metastatic development, there are numerous variables that modulate metastatic signals in subsets of patients.
