Mental health during adolescence is one of the most important determinants of mental health in adulthood. The aim of this study was to analyze the relationship between mindfulness and psychological well-being of adolescents considering the mediating role of self-compassion, emotional dysregulation and cognitive flexibility.</p><p><strong>Methods: </strong>The method of this research is cross-sectional. The research population was adolescents (elementary, first and second high school) in Zanjan, Iran in 2021, whose approximate number was 14,000. Data through adolescent mindfulness questionnaires (Brown, West, Loverich, and Biegel, 2011), short form of psychological well-being questionnaire (Ryff and Keyes, 1995), short form of self-compassion scale (Raes et al., 2011), difficulty in Emotion regulation (Gratz and Roemer, 2004) and cognitive flexibility (Dennis and Vander Wal, 2010) were collected. Data analysis was performed using Pearson correlation coefficient and path analysis with SPSS-26 and lisrel-10.2 software.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>According the results, in addition to the fact that mindfulness is directly and positively related to psychological well-being (p < 0.05), it is also indirectly through self-compassion and Cognitive flexibility has a positive and significant relationship with psychological well-being and also mindfulness has an indirect, negative and significant relationship with psychological well-being through emotional dysregulation (p < 0.05). 青春期是成长的关键时期。青春期的心理健康是成年期心理健康的最重要决定因素之一。摘要本研究旨在探讨正念与青少年心理健康的关系,并考虑自我同情、情绪失调和认知灵活性的中介作用。方法:本研究采用横断面法。研究人群为2021年伊朗赞詹的青少年(小学、一年级和二年级),其人数约为14,000人。通过青少年正念问卷(Brown, West, Loverich, and Biegel, 2011)、心理健康简易问卷(Ryff and Keyes, 1995)、自我同情简易量表(Raes et al., 2011)、情绪调节困难量表(Gratz and Roemer, 2004)和认知灵活性量表(Dennis and Vander Wal, 2010)收集数据。采用SPSS-26、lisrel-10.2软件进行Pearson相关系数分析和通径分析。结果:根据研究结果,除了正念与心理健康直接正相关外(p结论:因此,建议从业者通过正念、情绪失调、自我同情和认知灵活性为促进心理健康提供基础。
Mindfulness and psychological well-being in adolescents: the mediating role of self-compassion, emotional dysregulation and cognitive flexibility.
Introduction: Adolescence is a critical period of growth. Mental health during adolescence is one of the most important determinants of mental health in adulthood. The aim of this study was to analyze the relationship between mindfulness and psychological well-being of adolescents considering the mediating role of self-compassion, emotional dysregulation and cognitive flexibility.
