The aims of this research was to determine and analyze high school students' responses to local wisdom-based learning on the traditional musical instrument tambourine to enhance scientific literacy skills. The analytical method used in this research is descriptive quantitative, while the subjects are students of class XII of high school (SMA) in the Gresik area. The data collection process in this study was carried out in January 2022 using the cluster random sampling technique. The sample used was 150 students from class XII at SMAN 1 Sidayu, SMAN 1 Dukun, and SMAN 1 Driyorejo. Based on the results of research data obtained by the author through the distribution of response questionnaires and test questions, it can be concluded that the level of scientific literacy skills of high school students in the Gresik area, especially in the material of elasticity and sound waves, is included in the low category. The suggestion offered by the author regarding the resolution of this is by applying local wisdom-based learning related to daily life. This is supported by questionnaire response data from students, which proves that 88.6% of students need innovations in physics learning. In particular, 84.7% of students are interested in learning the material of elasticity and sound waves through the media of the traditional musical instrument tambourine.
