CONTRIBUTION TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF “NON-PHLEBOTOMINE” PSYCHODIDAE (DIPTERA NEMATOCERA) FROM CENTRAL ITALY
Several new records for 10 species of moth flies from central Italy are discussed in this paper. Three species, namely Sycorax similis (Müller, 1927), Pneumia sanae (Krek, 1990), and Jungiella (Jungiella) parvula (Vaillant, 1960), are new to the Italian fauna. Distribution of each species is provided, together with ecological and taxonomic remarks, where relevant. Diagnostic characters currently used to separate the taxa belonging to the Pericoma pannonica Szabó, 1960 species group are also discussed. Key Words: Diptera, Psychodidae, moth flies, faunistics, Apennines, Italy
