"Zeitschrift für Slawistik" publishes critical essays on language and literature, on popular poetry and on the cultural history of Slavic people in the past and present. Special attention is paid to German-Slavic linguistic, literary and cultural relations within their European context, to onomastics, history and poetology of literary genres, Baltic studies, Sorbic studies, and to the history of Slavic studies.
