The ethanolic extracts of the plants were tested for their Total Phenolic Content (TPC), Total Tannin Content (TTC), Total Flavonoid Content (TFC) and their antioxidants activity using 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) and 2,2'-azino-bis (3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS). In addition to α-Amylase inhibitory activity of the plant extracts was determined. Correlations between TPC, TFC, TTC, protein content with the antioxidant activities (DPPH and ABTS), α-amylase inhibition were determined using Pearson correlation. The phenolic content and flavonoid content showed a high correlation with ABTS activity. The studied plants varied from activation to inhibition of α-Amylase, this may benefit people with hypoglycemia.
