Mental wellness was assessed through pre- and post-intervention surveys using the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ). We used Chi-square tests and Kruskal-Wallis one-way ANOVA to examine change in high and total SDQ score, respectively. Children enjoyed meeting new people, gaining new skills, and imaginative play during ABT sessions. Most parents reported their child was happier after participating. Small improvements were seen in multiple SDQ subscales, including emotional, conduct, peer problems, and prosocial activity, although none were statistically significant (p > 0.1). This ABT program was well-received and indicates the feasibility of a volunteer-led program.
