Thus, English instruction should be directed to teaching communication skills necessary for business. As a vocational institution, State Polytechnic of Malang is supposed to view its English instruction from the perspectives of the students and alumni. Thus, the present study is intended to investigate the students’ and alumni’s perspectives on the benefits of Business English as well as their recommendation for the course. The respondents of this study are students and alumni of Business Administration Department, State Polytechnic of Malang. To tap the data, questionnaires are deployed. The data, then, are analyzed employing descriptive statistics to obtain the most and least typical responses. Findings indicate that both students and alumni take the benefit of the course. They view this subject is to prepare for their career development in the workplace. Besides, it is beneficial for their communication at the office, particularly in foreign companies. 摘要

英语已经成为国际商务的通用语言。因此,英语教学应该以教授商务所需的沟通技巧为导向。作为一所职业院校,玛琅国立理工学院应该站在学生和校友的角度来看待英语教学。因此,本研究旨在调查学生和校友对商务英语益处的看法,以及他们对这门课程的建议。本研究的调查对象为玛琅国立理工学院工商管理系的学生及校友。为了挖掘数据,我们部署了问卷调查。然后,使用描述性统计对数据进行分析,以获得最典型和最不典型的反应。调查结果表明,学生和校友都从这门课程中受益。他们认为这门课是为他们在工作场所的职业发展做准备。此外,这有利于他们在办公室的沟通,特别是在外企。校友们声称,他们在大学期间学到的商务英语知识和技能在工作中同样适用。受访者大多要求在商务英语课程中增加商务沟通技巧的练习和词汇教学。
