摘要

本文从学术人员、工业雇主和刚毕业的工程师自身三个方面考察了新毕业工程师专业知识和个人能力的重要性和发展。目的是发现毕业的工程师在毕业时如何看待能力的重要性,以及在他们的学习期间各种能力是如何发展的。为此目的,采用了一项全国范围的毕业生调查作为研究的基础。结果表明,工程学位课程强调理论基础而不是一般能力,而工业雇主更倾向于个人能力和态度因素。此外,根据毕业生的评分,有些能力的发展超出了职业生涯开始时所必需的水平。这些能力在学位课程中是最受重视的。同样,在学位课程中最不受重视的一些能力是研究中最不发达的能力的一部分,但也是毕业生最重要的能力的一部分。
