摘要
阿拉伯地名Jurhum的词源是根据它在历史资料中出现的上下文和形容词Jurhum(如词典资料所证实的)的含义来研究的。由此产生的解释赋予Jurhum两个原始含义(同音异义)。首先,Jurhum的意思是高棕榈,从词根H J R通过元分解(见nakhlah muhjirah),事实上,叙事文本将Jurhum后裔准确地描述为高棕榈。Jurhum的植物性很可能是图腾崇拜的一个例子。其次,Jurhum的意思是一条善良的蛇,从词根J R H(参见Tigre garha“善良的”)。然而,它可能指的是反hrasis的恶性蛇,如ḥubāb“友好的蛇/实体”代表shayṭ ān“敌对的蛇/实体”。Jurhum的动物本性也是图腾崇拜的一个例子。Jurhum的后裔实际上被描述为毒蛇,即一条恶性的蛇。
L’eponimo arabo Jurhum: La questione etimologica e delle fonti
The etymology of the Arab eponym Jurhum is here investigated on the basis of the contexts in which it occurs in historiographical sources and the meanings of the adjective jurhum, as attested in lexicographical sources. The resulting interpretation assigns Jurhum two original meanings (homonymy). Firstly, Jurhum means a tall palm, from the root H J R via metathesis (see nakhlah muhjirah ) and, indeed, narrative texts describe a descendant of Jurhum precisely as a tall palm. The vegetal nature of Jurhum is likely to be an instance of totemism. Secondly, Jurhum means a benign serpent, from the root J R H (see Tigre garha ‘good-natured’). However, it may refer to a malignant serpent by antiphrasis, as ḥub āb ‘friendly serpent/entity’ stands for shayṭ ān ‘hostile serpent/entity’. The animal nature of Jurhum is also an instance of totemism. A descendant of Jurhum is in fact described as a viper, i.e. a malignant serpent.

期刊介绍:
The journal has three main aims. First of all, it aims at encouraging interdisciplinary research on Asia and Africa, maintaining high research standards. Second, by providing a global forum for Asian and African scholars, it promotes dialogue between the global academic community and civil society, emphasizing patterns and tendencies that go beyond national borders and are globally relevant. The third aim for a specialized academic journal is to widen the opportunities for publishing worthy scholarly studies, to stimulate debate, to create an ideal agora where ideas and research results can be compared and contrasted. Another challenge is to combine a scientific approach and the interest for cultural debate, artistic production, biographic narrative, etcetera. This journal wants to be original (even hybrid) also in its structure, where academic rigor should not hinder access to the vitality of experience and of artistic and cultural production.
