Freud's Moses, Schoenberg's Moses, and the Tragic Quest for Purity

Abstract:In this essay, I review some general known parallels between Freud and Schoenberg, and what threads of influence can be discovered. I will briefly describe each of the two Moses works, followed by a summary of previous scholarly comparisons.
