He carried out postdoctoral studies at the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST), Manchester, England (1997/98), and the University of South Carolina, Columbia, USA (2017). He is currently Associate Professor at the Department of Analytical Chemistry at IQ - Unicamp. He was Associate Director (2006–2009) and Director (2009–2015) of the Pluridisciplinary Center for Chemical, Biological and Agricultural Research (CPQBA) at Unicamp, Secretary of the Brazilian Chemical Society, Campinas Regional (2020-2022) and is currently its treasurer. He has served as an Associate Editor of the Journal of the Brazilian Chemical Society since 2019.
