E-Resources Staff Training in Alma—A Unified Strategy
Abstract As part of the 2022 NC Serials Conference, Li Ma, e-resource and serials librarian from the University of South Carolina (USC) presented a lightning talk describing staff training efforts on e-Resources management in Alma, an Ex Libris’ cloud-based Library Management System. She discussed challenges encountered by their e-Resources with respect to learning of new concepts and workflows, strategies they followed and some tips for effective training. The talk wrapped up with some closing thoughts, ideas for on-going/future training and “nice to have” features that could be incorporated within Alma for a robust trained staff in future.

Serials Review covers all aspects of serials management: format considerations, publishing models, statistical studies, collection analysis, collaborative efforts, reference and access issues, cataloging and acquisitions, people who have shaped the serials community, and topical bibliographic studies.
