Shenyang is not on the normal tourist routes in China and deserves to be better known as the palace and its contents are invaluable resources; though this text (which was [presumably] translated from an authorised Chinese source) is characteristically bare of notes and bristling with assumptions, the volume as a whole is a good introduction.
