Higher Education internationalization: how do Education field studies address the topic?

Abstract Arguing that the early 21st century saw an important push to higher education internationalization, this study shows the results of a bibliographical review on the topic. To do so, a set of 36 articles, published between 2014 and 2019, in education journals of excellence were selected via specific research descriptors. From our analysis it seems that, although most articles can be categorized either from the perspective of students’ experiences or from a public policy to internationalize higher education, we find great porosity in addressing the theme, which hinders summarization.
