P2X7R is present in many cancer cells and promotes or inhibits cancer development through signal transduction. Studies have presented that P2X7R plays a role in the proliferation and migration of digestive system cancers, such as CRC, HCC and pancreatic cancer. Therefore, P2X7R may serve as a biomarker or therapeutic target for digestive system cancers.
