GIS-gestützte Analyse zum Wölbäckervorkommen in der Prignitz / GIS-based Analysis for the Detection of Medieval Ridge-and-furrow Soil Cultivation Patterns within the Prignitz Region(North-Eastern Germany)
Medieval ridge-and-furrow soil cultivation patterns that have been preserved until today provide valuable information regarding early settlement development as well as cultural landscape history. Their locations within the Prignitz region, a north-eastern German landscape, have hardly been assessed and are still insufficiently researched. Although in the past numerous historic objects have been identified with the help of airborne laser scanning technology a systematic approach of LiDAR data analysis for this matter still remains at a relatively early stage. Therefore, this paper presents results of a semi-automated method for the relict based on a high-resolution digital elevation model.
