It presents two spineless dorsal fins closer to the pelvic fins, large star-shaped dermal denticles, and distally oriented multi-cusplet cutting-type teeth. Along the shark, a peninsular coyote Canis latrans peninsulae was observed scavenging on the shark carcass.
