Structural development of the central Baikal Rift System: similarities and differences of the Barguzin and Tunka valleys
The central part of the Baikal Rift System is exhibited by the lacustrine South Baikal basin and land Barguzin and Tunka valleys. In the Late Cenozoic, the former valley developed consistently with the South Baikal basin as its distal extensional pattern, the latter underwent both extension and compression as an individual structure of the Hangay-Belaya orogenic zone.
