Three typical failure modes of dropout fuses used in coastal area are proposed, as well as the corresponding failure mechanisms. 50 decommissioned dropout fuses from Zhoushan power grid were tested in order to study the electrical performance deterioration of dropout fuses used in coastal area, with 50 new dropout fuses set for comparison.
