Over time, several academics and researchers have evolved their definitions of CSR, basing them on the political, environmental, economic, and social circumstances of the moment. Since the 1950s, no solitary, recognized definition of CSR among academics and researchers has existed. Companies that engage in CSR see a rise in customer loyalty.
