Moreover, the proposed analysis method accurately predicts the zero-sequence (3rd harmonic) and higher-order harmonic induced voltages and currents which are present in magnetic couplings. It is found that the zero-sequence and higher-order harmonic currents contribute to the net-torque of the magnetic coupling and their effects are more prevalent at low loads. The method is verified by means of comparing its results to those obtained from a commercial transient FE (T-FE) package.
