Eucypris rothschildi Daday, 1910 is transferred to Sclerocypris, while Eucypris senatomarginata Kiss, 1960 is considered a juvenile of Sclerocypris multiformis (Kiss, 1960) and is placed in synonymy with the latter species. Sclerocypris sarsi nom. nov. is a new name for S. tuberculata (Sars, 1924) nec (Methuen, 1910). The known African species of Sclerocypris are listed and S. pardii is compared to all of them.
