The apparent density measured by X ray densitometry in the pith – bark direction was found to be 520 kg/m 3 and 560 kg/m 3 for 5 and 8 years, respectively; with higher values at the basal level (5 years old: 650 kg/m 3 ; 8 years old: 680 kg/m 3 ) and lower towards the apical part (5 years old: 430 kg/m 3 ; 8 years old: 470 kg/ m 3 ). The densitometric profiles showed, in general, that there is an increase in apparent density radially in the pith-bark direction. 摘要
