Educational inclusion of students with type-1 diabetes.
ABSTRACT Inclusive education is a recognized right. One of the factors addressed the least by the scholarly literature is the right to inclusive education among students with chronic diseases. Given the scarcity of research on this topic, the goal of this study is to identify and analyse how the research published has addressed the inclusion of students with diabetes. To meet this objective, we conducted a systematized literature review following some of the guidelines of the PRISMA statement. We searched in the databases Scopus and WOS and the Teseo, Dialnet and Google Scholar portals, where we found the 24 studies that comprise the data bank. The results show a reality that is a far cry from inclusive education, given that there are barriers like a lack of information and training, scant resources and support, no relations among the different administrations and the inexistence of public policies regulating attention to these students at school.
