However, the potential of digital technologies in the design and construction processes of modular housing is not yet sufficiently explored. For the development of novel tools, this study focuses on stakeholders involved in planning and production, as expert knowledge represents an essential component of research to address both requirements and existing gaps in the industry. The aim is to answer the research question of which potentials and challenges BIM for Design to Production faces from an experts' point of view. In this study, 8 expert interviews were conducted with manufacturers and construction companies to identify the challenges and status of digitalization and modular construction as well as future potentials.
