Clinical Aspects and Treatment of Vulvar Cancer in Japan
In a survey of patients with vulvar cancer registered during the period from 1968 through 1970, a total of 319 cases were registered at 82 medical institutions in Japan, and the data from these cases were statistically analyzed to find the current status of onset and treatment of this malignancy in Japan.
The results of vulvar cancer treatment in terms of 3-year and 5-year survival rates in this country proved similar to those recently attained in other countries. It was learned that the use of bleomycin for treatment of this malignancy was widespread, and analysis of its therapeutic effects revealed that both the primary effects and long-term effects were rather satisfactory.
