Age of the elderly was highly and significantly associated with cognitive impairment where in young old (60-74 years) performed better than older elderly (75-110 years) in Northern Karnataka and Upper Assam. Elderly of higher socio-economic status of Upper Assam were significantly better than lower socio-economic status. Mini-Mental State Examination developed by Flostein and Flostein (1975) and Aggarwal et al.
