Hashimoto's thyroiditis (HT) was confirmed and steroid treatment initiated, with positive results, so the diagnosis of HE was made.</p></div><div><h3>Discussion</h3><p>HT is a particularly common disease among patients that usually have autoimmune disorders, such as persons with DS.
