Participants were 84 people with dementia from Barcelona (Spain) that were randomly assigned to Snoezelen or reminiscence sessions. Bi-weekly sessions were held over a period of 12 weeks. Participants in the Snoezelen group displayed significant improvements in depression and anxiety and a greater degree of relaxation. Participants with slight dementia were also more likely to display more alertness and offer constructive answers.
