Centre d'innovations technologiques biomatériaux du CHU de Bordeaux
Located at the interface between fundamental research and clinical research the CIT of Bordeaux associates the industrialists, the University Hospital environment in order to develop biomedical research in the field of biomaterials. Thus the CIT of Bordeaux brings a methodological support in the phases of design, development, evaluation which the projects are upstream marking CE, relate to marking CE or are downstream from marking CE. The three axes of CIT biomaterials activities are in vitro preclinic research, preclinic research in vivo and clinical research (clinical studies control). “The study of the modification of the coral by heat treatments and supercritical fluid for its improvement as osseous substitute in odontology and orthopaedic” is a typical project of the CIT biomaterials of Bordeaux. The objective of this project was to evaluate the effectiveness of various innovating techniques of extracellular matrix extraction and their effect on biocompatibility and mechanical performances of the coral, in order to obtain a natural osseous substitute entirely mineral.
