The journal was founded in 1989 and is sponsored by the Institute of Bioengineering of the Academy of Military Medical Sciences. It is a biology journal published publicly at home and abroad. The journal has columns such as research reports, technical methods, reviews, experience exchanges, special research bulletins, biological medicine gardens and knowledge introductions.
