Abstract

The aim of this article is to investigate how a multifaceted evaluation of learning outcomes in medical school could be achieved, particularly how students' achievement related to diploma policy can be assessed. One of the purposes of the paper was to develop an evaluation system that takes into account particular diploma policies using the following two types of evaluation: (1) an objective evaluation calculating a grade point average based on a curriculum map; and (2) a subjective evaluation reflecting students' self-evaluation of their achievement related to each diploma policy. By using different types of evaluation methods, medical educators can thus assess various aspects of students' outcomes, as well as evaluate educational programs.
