The proposed method potentially has advantages in terms of performance and implementation, due to the fact that it possesses some distinct channel diversity on mirror-symmetrical subcarriers and involves identical real-valued transform operations at the transmitter and receiver. Abstract

This paper presents a new filter bank multicarrier (FBMC) transmission scheme that uses the real-valued discrete Hartley transform (DHT) for both multicarrier modulation and demodulation, rather than the complex-valued inverse discrete Fourier transform (IDFT) and DFT for multicarrier modulation and demodulation respectively in conventional FBMC systems.
