Abstract

An ultrasonic imaging system has been developed by combining ultrasonic testing with computer and signal processing to evaluate austenitic welds. After describing the ultrasonic imaging principle, the system's hardware and software are presented. The field testing results show that this system has the advantages of high testing resolution, clear image and easy operation. It will have wide applications in the petrochemical industry, nuclear plants, pressure vessels, etc.
