Abstract

Metaheuristics have become popular in solving optimization problems. Recently literature has been flooded with lot of “novel” optimization techniques. These techniques are inspired by various natural phenomenons. One such technique is Black Hole Algorithm, which is inspired by the Black Holes. The author of this technique claim it to be better than Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), but we have found it contrary. In this paper we compare the Black Hole Algorithm and Particle Swarm Optimizaion(PSO) by evaluating them on standard test suite.
