In this paper, a new approach for machine translation of simple sentences from Kannada to English language is presented. Initially, the method performs lexical analysis to process input transliterated Kannada sentence to recognize and classify tokens using newly constructed source language lexicon KannadaWordNet. Then, newly designed recursive descent parser for the domain validates the transliterated Kannada sentence with the syntactic constructs/grammar rules. Further, the phrase mapper and output generation mechanisms are employed to obtain translated English sentence. The proposed methodology is evaluated on a data set containing transliterated Kannada sentences of text written in low resolution images of display boards of Karnataka government offices in India. The method achieves an average translation accuracy of 97.56%. The proposed method is robust and efficient in dealing with various issues such as construction of source lexicon, syntactic/semantic representation of language constructs, design of efficient parser, resolving differences between syntactic/semantic constructs of source and target language, construction of bilingual dictionary. The method also resolves word sense ambiguity, translation ambiguity, and provides accurate translation without errors.

A landslide is the movement of rock, rubble or dirt down a slope. They result from the failure of the constituents which make up the mountain slope and are driven by the force of gravity. Though the landslides cannot be detected before they occur, but we can alert the general population about any catastrophe that has occurred. This would enable the people residing in the vicinity as well as the disaster management authorities to help the needy. This research focuses on alerting the general population along with the disaster management authorities in case of an occurrence of a landslide. An accelerometer is used for detecting any kind of change in the ground movement. The accelerometer can easily detect horizontal as well as angular movements. It would detect small as well as the abrupt changes in the area around the sensor. Copper plates are separated by a small distance and would trigger as soon as pressure is applied to it. These nodes are connected together with Renesas GR-Kaede processor. The data is transmitted to the server via Zigbee. The server is programmed using XAMPP and PHP which continuously monitors the incoming data from the Zigbee attached at the COM port. The server then transmits the data to the android application which is specifically designed for alerting the user as soon as a landslide is triggered. The user can thus take the adequate countermeasures required in that situation. The user would also be able to send a message or call the disaster management authorities in case of any kind of query. They would be able to interact with the authorities so that sufficient help could be provided to them.

In today's world where everything is recorded digitally, right from our web surfing patterns to our medical records, we are generating and processing petabytes of data every day. Big data will be transformative in every sphere of life. But just to process and analyze those data is not enough, human brain tends to find pattern more efficiently when data is represented visually. Data Visualization and Analytics plays important role in decision making in various sectors. It also leads to new opportunities in the visualization domain representing the innovative ideation for solving the big-data problem via visual means. It is quite a challenge to visualize such a mammoth amount of data in real time or in static form. In this paper, we discuss why big data visualization is of utmost importance, what are the challenges related to it and review some big data visualization tools.

With the growth of IC technology, power minimization has become a serious concern for the test engineers. Power consumption in test mode is comparatively higher than in functional mode. This high power consumption during testing may generate too much heat which in turn can spoil the circuit under test. Considering the spectrum of low power testing approaches, reduction in dynamic power is viewed here as a sub-problem and resolved through test vector reordering. In this paper, an Enhanced Ant Colony Optimization (EACO) heuristic is applied to sort out an optimal order of test vectors so that switching activity during testing gets lessened. The simulation on ISCAS 85 bench mark test data set has shown promising power reduction when compared with simple ant colony optimization (ACO) and other relevant heuristic approaches.

Cloud Computing is a very fast emerging technology as every enterprise is moving fast towards this system. Cloud Computing is known as a provider of dynamic services. It optimizes a very large, scalable and virtualized resource. So lots of industries have joined this bandwagon nowadays. One of the major research issues is to maintain good Quality of Service (QoS) of a Cloud Service Provider (CSP). The QoS encompasses different parameters, like, smart job allocation strategy, efficient load balancing, response time optimization, reduction in wastage of bandwidth, accountability of the overall system, etc. The efficient allocation strategy of the independent computational jobs among different Virtual Machines (VM) in a Datacenter (DC) is a distinguishable challenge in the Cloud Computing domain and finding out an optimal job allocation strategy guided by a good scheduling heuristic for such an environment is an Mape-k loop problem. So different heuristic approaches may be used for better result and in this work we implement worst fit in Mape-k and evaluated the results.

Quantum dot Cellular Automata (QCA) is one of the emerging technologies for implementing the combinational and sequential circuits. From the past few decades CMOS technology is being used in IC industry. But CMOS technology having certain limitations like high power, low-speed, switching losses etc, to overcome these limitations and to meet the requirements of the industry parameters QCA is used. Adder is the basic building block to perform arithmetic and logical operations. In this paper QCA based BCD adder is designed with less number of Quantum cells. By reducing the QCA cells improvement in the circuit parameters like frequency, area and power consumption. To implement BCD adder 3-input majority gate and inverter is used with different clock inputs.

In the current scenario one of the major causes of road accidents in the world is the fact that after driving hundreds of kilometers at a stretch, the driver feels drowsy and eventually dozes off while driving or they are not aware of the environment they might just be entering. They might also be unaware of any defect in their cars. There is an alarming increase in hit and run cases caused by drivers driving under the influence of alcohol. So, there is a pressing need of a device which prevents this, so that a lot of lives can be saved every day. Safety is the primary concern for humans. When it comes to driving, we need to be extra cautious. So, this project aims at developing an affordable solution to these safety concerns. The proposed system will be mounted on a car, in front of the driver's seat, which will continuously focus on the person driving the vehicle thereby monitoring the person's actions and give voice messages to the driver, instructing him about the safety procedures every time he comes inside the car. If he found to be drowsy, he is alerted by a voice message telling him that he is drowsy and he should stop the car. If he is found to be under the influence of alcohol or tailgating while driving, the GPS coordinates of the car along with the details of the car, are sent to the nearest control room, so that appropriate action can be taken by the police. So, this system has the capability of ensuring the driver's safety along with the co-passengers and can easily be integrated with the existing safety systems in the car. This will also enhance overall road safety, by reporting any kind of reckless driving to the nearest control room. In future, it can be enforced by law for every car to have such a safety system installed for driver and passenger protection. Hence the system is a complete solution which prevents accidents, so that a lot of lives can be saved every day.

In human interaction, understanding human behaviors is a challenging problem in todays world. Action recognition has become a very important topic in detecting the emotional activity with many fundamental applications, such as in robotics, video surveillance, human-computer interaction. In this paper, we are proposing a system that uses semantic rules to define emotional activities. First, we apply morphological operation on pre-processing frame. Then by segmentation process, image is partitioned into multiple regions multiple regions which intended to extract the object. Once extract the object, action representation derives behavior of object in specific time. Using temporal and spatial properties of the objects, emotions are classified using semantics-based approach. Further the actions are classified as sitting posture and standing posture. Here, sitting posture concludes activity to be recognized as either relaxed or hands on forehead(tensed). While standing posture concludes activity recognized as loitering or fidgetting. We have opted for semantics-based approach instead of machine learning enables us to detect the actions without requiring to train the system. This also makes the system better performance-wise; and enables action detection in real time.

MIMO-OFDM is commonly used for communication system because it provides high data rates and fading effect which is introduced by multipath propagation; the system is robust against it. In MIMO-OFDM, channel estimation is a crucial technique for the estimation of the transmitted signal bits upon the received signal bits. Designing pilot pattern is an important step to realize PSA-OFDM. For channel estimator designing in wireless OFDM systems, the arrangement of pilot information is an important task, in which pilot is a reference signal employed by both transmitter and receiver. In this paper, we present a research on constraining requisites of pilot patterns such as the number and the interval of pilot symbols. Then, different types of pilot patterns and usage scenarios are summarized roundly.

In 21st century, all bank systems are connected with one another through internet technology. This system of bank is called as core banking network. Banks allows customer to transfer and receive money in their own account through various ways. Bank makes payments using cash, money order, online payment, demand draft, NEFT payment system, RTGS payment system, or through cheque payment system. In this research work, payment of bank system through cheque is discussed. Cheque payment can be clear by using cheque truncation system of bank. It helps the employee for quick clearance of cheque from home bank branch to clearing house of cheque branch. In this case, cheque document is scanned and cheque image is transfer through cheque truncation system of bank system through digital communication channel to clearing house of cheque bank branch. During this transmission process, issue of copyright protection & security for cheque image arises. To overcome this problem Singular Valued Decomposition transform is used. This helps for digital image watermarking & provides copyright protection facility to cheque image. The security facility to cheque image can be provided by using 256 bit key advanced encryption standard technique.
