The system is a wireless Global System for Mobile communication(GSM) based energy meter which has a web interface, Internet of Things (IoT) is used for displaying details of real-time energy consumption. The proposed system does not replace the traditional meters and it can be easily interfaced with the existing energy meters. Abstract

A majority of energy providers in India are still using the traditional method of energy meter billing which is obsolete and inefficient. It requires considerable manual work, consumes time and resources. Conventional energy metering systems lack bidirectional communication.
